Marsden Robinson qualified and set up his practice in 1961. Computers, copiers, and fax machines were unheard of, all transactions were in Pounds, shillings, and pence, typewriters were manual and used carbon paper, and adding machines and calculators were clumsy slow mechanical devices. From a one-man band with a part-time typist, the firm grew organically – and by numerous acquisitions - to become one of the largest and best-known sole practices in New Zealand.
In 1982 Shee Chow was employed as a junior, unqualified accountant, rising eventually to become Practice Manager. In 1987 Sam Chow, who had by that time gained international experience, particularly in Fiji, joined the firm, eventually being appointed assistant Practice Manager.
In 2005 Marsden Robinson retired, and a new company Marsden Robinson Chow Limited was formed with Shee and Sam Chow as joint Partners and Directors. Marsden Robinson remains a consultant to the firm.
In 2010 the firm acquired the accountancy practice of Peter Bould, whose services have been retained on a consultancy basis. Over time we have grown, moved offices and changed our name, but our commitment to being your best provider of business services remains as strong as ever.
